Safety is a core value at McCrea’s Welding Ltd. and is embedded into every part of our operations, from the shop floor to remote field and marine work. We believe that a strong safety culture is built through leadership, accountability, and daily engagement, and our program is designed to protect our people, our clients, and the environments we work in.

We maintain an extensive, documented safety program, developed and continuously improved in partnership with the Manufacturers Safety Alliance of BC, through whom we hold COR® certification. Their team works closely with us to monitor, audit, and review our safety program annually, ensuring it remains current, effective, and aligned withindustry best practices.
Our commitment to safety has been recognized through multiple safety awards, acknowledging our program strength, workplace culture, and leadership. These recognitions reflect not only our policies but also the way our team actively lives safety every day.
To ensure accessibility and consistency, we have implemented a QR code–based SafeWork Procedure (SWP) system throughout our shop and mobile operations. Every tooland machine is clearly labeled with a QR code that provides immediate access to allrelevant procedures, including lockout/tagout, startup and shutdown procedures, andgeneral operating requirements. This system ensures that both staff and visitors canquickly reference up-to-date safety information right at the point of use.

We begin every workday with a structured safety meeting, allowing ourteam to discuss hazards, site conditions, and task-specific concerns. Each day,we select and review a relevant safety topic from our program that directly relates to the work being performed. This approach keeps safety top of mind and encouragesopen, two-way communication across all roles.
Our mobile welding and picker truck fleet is fully equipped with the required safety equipment, including fire extinguishers, first aid kits, spill kits, and site-specific PPE. When working in the field, our crews actively bring our safety culture to every site through tailgate meetings and coordination with other trades and contractors to ensure a safe, organized work environment for everyone involved.
